Melissa Obleada (they/she) is a user experience researcher based in Boston.

Before her move into UX research, she was a founding member of HubSpot’s BIPOC and LGBTQ+ employee resource groups, and was the company’s first employee dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Through that work, they realized a passion for experience design, people-centered problem-solving, and advocacy.

Melissa pivoted into user experience out of a desire to scale impact. She joined HubSpot’s Growth team and worked with folks across Europe and North America on in-app onboarding and adoption of their freemium CRM platform for SMBs.

As both a DEI advocate and UX researcher, Melissa has had the privilege of speaking on panels, on podcasts, and at events, leading talks, interviewing Michelle Zauner, designing mentoring programs, and being published in The Washington Post online.

She has previously been involved with Boston PEAR (Pilipino Education, Advocacy, and Resources), Camp Harbor View, and Emerson College’s LGBTQ+ alumni initiatives. Melissa currently serves as Steering Committee Co-Chair of Fenway Health’s Young Leaders Council, and is a member of NLC Boston’s 2024 cohort.

On any given day, Melissa can be found walking their dog Mango, traveling with loved ones, enjoying a podcast, eating good food, or searching for their next hobby.
